I have no words to express myself to let you know how thankful I am for giving my kids such a wonderful experience by inviting them to Camp for the first time ever.  

It was hard for them and me, because my kids never go so far without me but it was rewarded with all the good times they had there.  They meet new friends and now they talk about it all the time and they are so excited about going to camp next year when they can take their little sister.  Thank you for letting my kids have this beautiful time at Camp del Corazon.

My daughter attended the recent trip to Camp del Corazon for the teen session.  I wanted to thank you for the opportunity that you gave her.  It was her first experience at camp and first experience away from home alone.  She was, at first very anxious but with the help of the counselors and some of the other campers she got on that plane.  When she arrived home I saw a wonderful change.  Within that 5 days, her confidence level increased dramatically!  She had the time of her life.  She made great friends and did things she never thought she would or could do.  She said the counselors were terrific.  She told me funny stories about each day.  She couldn't stop talking about the trip all weekend.  She has already emailed the girls she became close to and intends to keep in contact.  She even hopes to one day become a camp counselor herself.  One thing that stood out for me was when she said "Mom, this was the fist time in my life that I didn't feel short or worry about my scars - I wasn't different."  There are no words to tell you how happy this made me feel.  I just wanted to extend my deepest appreciation for what your foundation has provided, not just to my daughter but to her family as well.  The memories she made there will forever put a smile on our faces.  It was a very organized operation and the people working had a great positive effect on the children.  Thanks from the bottom of our hearts:)  We are blessed to have had such a wonderful experience!  Thanks again for all that you do!

I cannot thank you enough for the experience Alex had at camp this summer.  t has truly changed him.  He says he doesn't feel alone anymore.  Yesterday, we were at a pool party and for the first time in his life, Alex went swimming with his friends without wearing a shirt to cover his scars.  I am overwhelmed.

As I stated previously, I would love to help with your fundraising efforts.  Please contact me when you need help.

Dear Nick & Kelly Fund,

We received your check and cannot thank you enough.  We were surprised -- as I'm sure many families are -- at the financial burden left after insurance pays off.   Your generous check has helped relieve that burden for us.

As difficult as this experience has been, Elisabeth's heart has brought us so much.  We have received much love and support from family and friends -- but it is the kindness of people we do not even know -- like your wonderful organization -- that has touched us so.  Something so seemingly tragic has been in actuality, so life-affirming.  Thank you for your generosity.

PS  We are looking forward to attending the luncheon in May.  Elisabeth is tentatively scheduled for open-heart surgery in early April at PCH.  Providing her recovery goes well, we'll see you in May!
